Haydock 66 Rylands 20
HAYDOCK were on the score sheet after five minutes after a good play by Darrell Rotherham and Mark Boland sent Matty Cunliffe over for a try. Cunliffe converted, but Premier League new boys Rylands hit back five minutes later with a try.
Haydock went further ahead on 15 minutes when good work by Wayne Bloor put Cuniffe in for his second try.
Another great pass from Boland sent winger Dave Archer sprinting 60 metres down the touch line to score, Cunliffe converted to make it 16-4.
Haydock hit a purple patch when they scored three tries in four minutes. Prop Ash Carroll collected a great pass from Pete Cahalin to score the first. Cunliffe converted, making it 22-4 after 27 minutes.
A minute later Neil Ireland made a good run and gave a nice pass to Bloor, who broke through to give the supporting Mark Rigby the ball.
He went 30 yards to score, with Cunliffe's conversion making it 28-4. Nine minutes before the break Bloor burst through from acting half back to score. Cunliffe converted to make it 34-4.
Haydock were running riot and on 38 minutes a good pass from Carroll sent Ian Speed racing 50 metres to score. Cunliffe converted to make it 40-4.
In the last minutes of the first half Rylands got their second try to make the half time score 40-8 to Haydock.
Rylands started brightly in the second half pegged back a converted try to make it 40-14. But Haydock retrieved the ball from the kick off, with Mark Forber combining with Speed, before sending Rigby in for a try. Cunliffe goaled to make it 46-14.
Rylands hit back again with a converted try to make it 46-20 after 55 minutes. Cunliffe got his hat trick on 62 minutes and converted it himself to make it 52-20.
Haydock came back again with good passing all along the line and Cunliffe sent the final pass to Laughton, who dived over to make it 56-20.
A smart kick by Cunliffe was regathered by Forber who ran 50 yards to score, Cunliffe converted to make it 62-20.
Simon Tickle who went over in the corner to make the final score 66-20 to Haydock.
The St Helens Windows man of the match was Wayne Bloor.
