THE 25th anniversary of 'The Blues Brothers' is to be celebrated with a special tribute show at The Theatre Royal on 31 October.
'Jake and Elwood' will perform music from the hit 1980 film voted 'Best Soundtrack of All Time' in a recent BBC poll. 'The Blues Brothers', starring John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd, captured the imagination of performer William Smith-Eccles some time ago, so much he actually changed his name to Jake Blues.
Jake Blues says, "It's fantastic to be up on stage and see everyone dancing along to the music, especially when we have people turn up in their Blues Brothers costumes.
"It's a real party atmosphere. In fact at one recent show we had a guy there that was dressed as a nun!"
This theatre production features a brand new £20,000 stage set and 'the Black Rhino Band', who were voted the 'Hottest Soul Band in Europe'. Classic soul hits such as 'Everybody', 'Soul Man', 'Mustang Sally', 'Midnight Hour', 'Do You Love Me' and many more, feature in this special anniversary tour.
Tickets are available from the box office on 01744 756000.
