care homes' future
ST HELENS Council's Executive Committee will meet on Monday, October 4 to discuss proposals for the future of care homes and services for older people.
Following a major public consultation, proposals to be considered for care homes include for Seddon Court to continue specialising in the care of people suffering from dementia; Moss Bank and Brookfield to be redeveloped offering respite and short-stay care, with all existing residents being able to stay there; and Larchfield, Heyescroft and Ashtons Green to be developed as extra care housing offering an independent living experience providing 24-hour support.
The council stressed residents, their relatives and staff will be involved at every stage of the process.
