ST Helens Men's hockey team got their season of to a winning start with a 3-2 victory over Timperley.
The scoreline flatters Timperley as St Helens dominated the majority of the game and with 10 minutes remaining the score was 3-0. But St Helens seemed to switch off and as a result had to endure a tense final few minutes.
A fantastic finish from man of the match Dave Aspinall got St Helens off the mark.
Mark Alcock and the returning Paul Horton added the other goals.
St Helens will now look to build on this when they travel to Leyland next Saturday.
