IN the opening fixtures of the 2004/05 Winter Darts League, St Annes travelled to newcomers to the league, the Brown Cow where T Cowley turned in a man of the match performance to help St Annes to a 6-3 win.
N Pearce of St Josephs excelled in their 7-2 defeat of Travellers Rest. L Smith took the man of the match award at Burtonwood in helping them to a 6-3 win over Sidac whose captain M Eaton led from the front and earned the man of the match award for his side. Princess Royal defeated Saracens Head by 7-2.

York got off to a good start with great darts from K Lee and J Grimes to go two up. Moss Bank hit back with some good darts from I Davies and M Spratt to level it at 2-2.
D Bridge threw some great darts to beat M Traverse to put York 3-2 up but then came the '3 Amigos' with some brilliant darts.
M Tully beat I Burns, W Baines beat T Houghton then S Jones beat A Rodger to clinch the points for Moss Bank. Last on was J Platt who beat L Taylor making the final score 5-4. The best game was W Baines who whitewashed T Houghton.
Division Two: Prescot Reform (B) beat RXS 6-3.
Consolation Cup: Triplex beat Grange Park Labour Club 5-4 and will now play Ramford in the semi-final.
