PROMOTED Vulcan made it three wins from their first three top flight games with a 6-1 demolition of Fearnhead. Vulcan railroaded the visitors with three goals in 15 minutes, using the strong wind to plunder a five-nil half time advantage. Downall Green United and Halebank shared 10 goals with United on top 6-4.
In contrast Whiston and Haydock could only find three goals with Haydock shading the contest by the odd goal. Penlake ran out winners in their derby clash with Beeches, goals by Danny Ogier and Chris Luby securing a share of top spot.
In the First Division Rainhill Town gained their first win of the season in a tense 4-2 win over Blackbrook.
