HEATH'S second string exited the Lancashire Cup against a well drilled St Judes outfit but it could easily have been Crusaders going into the bag for the third round draw.
Home scrum-half Dave Watson opened the scoring on ten minutes with a cheeky drop goal from under posts. Heath took the lead on 17 minutes with a fine passing movement down the left hand flank ending in winger Gaisone Dal Ferro diving over in the corner.
A penalty for holding down, mid-way through the half, not only gave St Judes centre, Shaun Stazicker, the chance of an easy two points but also saw Crusaders reduced to twelve men as fullback Mark Webster was shown the yellow card for the professional foul.
Despite being a man down, Heath took the game to St Judes and Lee Burrows capitalised on Heath's pressure when he collected his perfect chip over the defence to feed his supporting half-back partner, Phil Asson, who strolled under the posts. Asson added the extras to make the score 3-10.
The homesters scored their first try as prop forward Lee Gardner finished the move with a crucial score just before half-time. Stazicker converted.
Just after the restart second row Scott Robinson popping up on the left hand wing to dive over in the corner to give St Judes the lead.
With ten minutes remaining Heath looked certain to score.
The ball was swung to the left and then quickly fired back over to the right resulting in a three man overlap. However a last ditch attempt of an interception paid off for Robinson and instead of Heath regaining the lead, their own try line was now beckoning for the second rower to score his second and seal the fate of the game.
