TO celebrate the release of 'Bride and Prejudice', Cineworld St Helens are giving away a special prize package in association with Martin Cars, The Palace Indian Restaurant and Sapphire Balloons.
From the team that created 'Bend It Like Beckham' and director Gurinder Chadha, comes 'Bride and Prejudice', a classic romance reinvented in a new globally connected world.
'Bride and Prejudice' puts an entirely different spin on Jane Austen's story of spirited courtship, Bollywood style.
Music, dance and spectacle merge with love, vanity and social pressures as Chadha transports the comic tale of a witty young woman trying to find a suitable husband to a cross cultural setting that spans 21st century India, London and America.
Headstrong Lalita (Aishwarya Rai) announces she will only marry for love but when she meets the wealthy American Will Darcy (Martin Henderson) sparks immediately fly.
But is it love or hate? Darcy comes off to Lalita as an arrogant snob. Lalita looks to Darcy like a small-town Indian beauty who knows nothing of the world. Enchanted by and suspicious of one another, Lalita and Darcy nearly fall prey to assumptions, gossip and a comedy of errors...until pride is humbled and prejudice overcome so that love can triumph.
First prize in the competition is a limo trip courtesy of Martin Cars, to The Palace Indian Restaurant for a meal for 4 and then on to Cineworld to watch the film with free popcorn and drinks. One runner up will win two tickets to watch the film.
To be in with a chance of winning just answer the question below:
Q: 'Bride and Prejudice' is a remake of the Period drama 'Pride and Prejudice', but who wrote the original novel?
Send your answers to Bride and Prejudice competition, c/o Vicky Andrews, St Helens Star, YMCA Buildings, Duke Street, St Helens, WA10 2HZ. Closing date 12 October.
