EVERY time Winifred Holcroft looks out of her window into next door's garden, all she sees is a jungle of waist-high grass, weeds and overgrown branches.
For eight years the house next door to her on Porter Avenue, Newton-le-Willows has lain empty after the death of its owner.
But no member of his family has come forward to renovate the boarded-up house or tend to the overgrown garden.
Winnie (75) admitted being at her wits end. She said: "You have got to see it to believe it.
"There are elderberry trees near my fence, with branches as tall as my wash house. I used to cut them back myself, but now I have to pay somebody to do it for me.
"It's even affecting the entry, with the smell of damp coming from the house".
Mrs Holcroft, who has lived in her home since it was built 52 years ago, is growing increasingly frustrated by the mess and is appealing for any help.
