BUDDING singers from across the region are invited to enter Pleasureland's 'Fame- Search for a star' competition, now in its third year.
The Southport theme park welcomed over 120 hopefuls to last year's contest, all of whom were excellent entertainers in their own right. Heats will take place on Thursday evenings from 13 Jan to 17 February, with semi-finals on 24 February, 10 and 17 March, with the Grand Final on Thursday 7 April.
Entry to the contest is free and there is a fantastic prize package for the winner.
This includes £750 cash, the chance to cut a demo at Parr Street Studios Liverpool, the opportunity to perform an opening set for a named act in front of up to 1,000 people at Southport Theatre and Floral Hall, plus a pair of surprise concert tickets for a headline act.
The competition is open to solo vocalists between the ages of 16 and 30 and full details of the competition and how to enter can be obtained by telephoning 01704 532717, Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm.
If you're outside the age range don't despair as Pleasureland runs a junior version of the competition in November and there are also plans for a 30+ competition in the pipeline.
