LSH travelled to Stelfox Avenue to replay the game from 9 October, which was abandoned when they were leading 26-10.
It is history now that Altrincham refused to carry on even though an appropriate replacement referee was available.
The powers that be appointed the same referee, Mr Taylorson, providing an instant and unnecessary reminder of previous events.
LSH are not currently being helped by the continued absence of head coach Paul Woodward, now awaiting surgery on his arm.
And they were ultimately outplayed in every department by an Altrincham side showing eleven changes from the abortive encounter.
The absence of stand off Simon Worsley with ankle problems caused a reshuffle among the backs which although previously successful was very costly on this occasion.
Their indecision and poor defence, with the marked exception of Mike Hitchen's tackling, led to the first two Altrincham tries within 15 minutes.
Both were scored by centre Rob Worsfold from 60 and 50 metres respectively.
Both came from poor clearance kicks and both left the entire LSH back line outpaced.
Both were converted by Snowy Wainwright who scored the home sides' third try just before the break.
Two more converted tries were added to the Altrincham total in a second half which had non contested scrums following injuries to Dave Conway and front row replacement Adam Leadbetter who was showing up well on his debut.
The pack battled away all afternoon with Lee Nevitt, Dave Hale and Ben Davis playing themselves to a standstill.
They did struggle in the lineouts however, without young Sheehan to throw and Handley to catch. As so often this season number eight Tim Hewlett did everything asked of him, and more.
Altrincham fully deserved their win and now go above LSH who slip into the bottom three.
The Moss Laners face a crucial relegation tussle this Saturday at bottom of the table Sheffield.
LSH 2nds 12
Macclesfield 2nds 42
The seconds were still in touch 7-12 at half time by virtue of a try from stand off Michael Jones after good work from Colin Mercure and Ray Doolan.
Macclesfield pulled away in the second half despite a fine try from Dan Barclay.
The whole team could not be faulted for effort with the centres Doolan and Tom Nelson tackling hard throughout.
