Wigan Keepers 24
BROOK'S promotion hopes suffered a jolt with this disappointing defeat.
The home side were left to rue missed scoring opportunities and a couple of dubious decisions as the Wiganers exacted revenge for a 30-22 reversal earlier in the season.
Keepers led 14-4 at the interval but two of their three tries were disputed by the home contingent. Brook replied with a touchdown by hooker Ian Williams from a quickly-taken tap penalty.
Brook came out in determined fashion for the second half and a second try by Williams followed by a Roger Steele interception, both goaled by Chris Springford, edged them ahead at 16-14.
Keepers regained the lead, after Brook had been reduced to 12 men following a seemingly harsh dismissal, when their full-back scored a brilliant length-of-the-field solo try, which he also converted.
But Brook replied with the outstanding Lee Brown linking up to tie the scores at 20-20.
Unfortunately Brook lost possession from the restart and Keepers crossed for a last-minute, match-clinching try.
The Santime Quarries man-of-the-match for Brook went to prop forward Chris Tyrer with Lee Brown, Matty Foley and Dave Hemmings also playing well.
