STEAMING in with a couple of yedscratters is railway buff Jimmy Henderson of Garswood, who writes: "Can anyone say when the last train ran across Moss Bank Road on its way between St Helens and Southport. I believe it was in the late 1950s but my mates reckon it was a lot later than that." He also asks if anyone can settle a little bet (a pint's riding on it): "When did the old St Helens Central station shut down; and when was it finally demolished?"
