IN response to the letter by Ruth Morgan Smith (Dear Star, January 13) about the roads not being gritted, how far did she walk to mass on Boxing Day? Did she not slip and fall or was she walking very carefully? To see two car crashes going to church, almost getting killed on her way home from church.. WOW!May I suggest that the drivers may not have been driving to the conditions of the road. On Boxing Day I drove to Tarporley via Widnes - Frodsham - Delamere Forest, the roads were iced up, there were no roads gritted and best of all no accidents.
People have short memories. It's not very long ago it was a regular thing the roads not being gritted and yes there were accidents, but people drove with much more consideration to other road users and road conditions.
I have no allegiance with the council but it is one of the best in this area and sometimes they may just get it wrong.
