THE search is on for a new conductor for Haydock Male Voice Choir.
Gary Hill, who has been a member of the choir for 20 years and conductor for 12, reckons it's time to hand over the baton because of increasing work commitments.
Under Gary's control the choir has enjoyed success in many aspects of choral singing including competitions, concerts and televised events. The choir is at present rehearsing for one final major event under Gary's baton, the prestigious 2nd International Cornish Festival of Male Voice Singing to be held in Truro at the beginning of May.
Anyone who wishes to be considered for the post of conductor should apply to the secretary, Bill Ireland, for further details telephone 0151 426 6721 or e-mail wireland@onetel.com
