A SNEAKY crook pushed an angler into a dam and then waltzed off with his fishing rods and tackle.
The 53-year-old victim was fishing at Carr Mill Dam when the robber began chatting to him. Moments later the man pushed the angler into the water and stole three rods and a bag.
He then fled towards Carr Mill Road where it is believed he escaped in a blue, flat-back style pick-up truck.
The robbery happened at 9.15am on Thursday, January 27. The robber is described as being in his mid 20s, about 5ft 10ins tall, with a Lancashire accent.
He was wearing denim jeans, a bob hat and a dirty yellow fluorescent jacket.
Detectives are appealing for witnesses to come forward and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have been offered the rods, one of which is made by Hardy, and the other two by Greys.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
