LAST Wednesday, my two children (aged three and five) and I, put up six posters along Scarisbrick Road, Witton Way and Rufford Road, in Rainford asking the irresponsible dog owners(s) to clean up their dogs' mess as we are fed up of having to watch our step on our twice daily walk to school.
On the Thursday morning, three posters (i.e. those on Scarisbrick Road and Witton Way) had been torn down.
One had been left on the floor, the other two had disappeared completely, with only the string left on the pavement.
As we arrived at school my three year old tripped and missed a pile of dog mess that had been left a couple of days earlier, by about two inches. On Thursday evening the three remaining posters had also disappeared.
I can only hope that my posters have been read by the person(s) concerned and I assume that as they have been destroyed I have hit a 'raw' nerve with someone.
I would ask ALL dog owners to clean up after their pets, as it is EVERY child's right to grow up with their eyesight intact.
A VERY Concerned Parent, Rainford (name and address supplied).
