THE head teacher of Haydock High School has sent a letter to parents to reassure them following an incident in which three pupils were allegedly stabbed (as reported in last week's Star.)
The boys were allegedly attacked in the playground by two other pupils carrying a craft knife. Two were wounded in the legs and one on the backside. They were treated at hospital, but their injuries were not serious.
Head Steve Fullerton stated: "I view this isolated incident as extremely serious. Two boys were immediately excluded. Parents of the students were fully involved and supportive action was taken by members of staff."
A council spokesman said: "Until the investigation is completed, we will not be making any further comment."
