LIONS completed a league double over fellow strugglers Crosfields in a scrappy encounter.
The visitors looked to have taken an early grip on the game when they built up a 10-0 lead with tries by Paul Martin and Simon Dingsdale, plus a conversion by the latter.
Crosfields hit back though and by the interval they had narrowed the deficit to two points with a penalty goal and a converted try.
Further touchdowns by Martin Liptrot and Dingsdale made it 18-8 to the Lions before Crosfields replied with another six-pointer to leave the game in the balance again. The visitors finally made sure of victory though with a try by Jimmy Dyson goaled by Dingsdale.
Dyson took both the Birkett Motors man-of-the-match and the Players' Player award.
