THE WIND IN THE WILLOWS, the classic story of a mole, a rat a badger, a riverbank, a wild wood, some wicked weasels and an extravagant toad is brought magically to life at the Palace Theatre, Manchester from 15 February until 19 February 2005.
What began as a series of bedtime stories for Kenneth Grahame's own son was published in 1908 and became one of the most beloved children's books of all time. The Wind in The Willows has delighted children and adults alike with its take of friendship, courage, honour and adventure, combined with lots of high jinks and comedy along the way!
The meekest of Moles and the most idealistic of Rats try to convince their friend Mr. Toad to stop wasting all his money on automobiles and other frivolities and pay more attention to the Weasels, who seek to bring the countryside to ruin.
Will it all end happily? Or, at least in time for tea?
This brand new production is performed by SPLATS, one of the UK's leading family theatre companies, and uses masks, original songs, live music and animated imagery including black box techniques which enable their productions to leap from page to stage.
Each child will be given a free copy of the book at the show, a gift to remind them of their magical trip to the wild woods.
