A TELEVISION and theatre actor from St Helens has rewritten the script and jetted off to Spain to teach English through drama.
Jonathan Pickett has just graduated from Hope Street's Theatre, Culture and Communities Programme and secured a job with Pavana Productions, a professional theatre company in Valencia.
He flew out to the vibrant city on the East of Spain yesterday and will be teaching English through theatre work to non-native speakers, age ranging from 8-18 years old.
Jonathan said, "Training in Hope Street has provided me with this great opportunity and it has made me a more confident person and I feel ready to work in the real world.
"The education programme is an excellent training experience and it opened my eyes to the business side of theatre and provided the practical experiences which universities do not offer."
The 22 year old from St Helens graduated from Liverpool John Moores University with a degree in drama and his television credits include roles in the hit soaps Hollyoaks and Brookside.
While training in Hope Street, Jonathon was involvved in a wide range of arts projects across Merseyside and has delivered workshops in puppet making with more than 250 people, leading to a large scale outdoor procession as part of Capital of Culture's winter parade.
Jonathan has a passion for the theatre and works freelance drama schools in St Helens, delivering drama techniques to help students prepare for exams.
