Burtonwood Bridge 4

Clock Face Miners 10

CLOCK had the slope and strong wind in their favour in the first half and soon put them to good use, keeping the home team pinned back.

This pressure paid off after 15 minutes when a loose ball on the 30 metre line was kicked forward by Ian Chisnall who then won the race to the line to score near the posts giving Craig Greenall an easy conversion.

Despite this good start Clock could not increase their score and had to settle for a slender 6-0 lead at half time.

With the elements now in their favour it was the Bridge's turn to put the pressure on, but as they had done in the first half, it was Clock that scored again after just 10 minutes when Steve O'Neill, and Wayne Prescott linked up to send Greenall over in the corner for a try.

Bridge continued to keep the pressure on but with the likes of captain Steve Molyneux, Dave Pickavance and Alan Johnson to the fore in defence, they found to difficult to breach the Clock line.

With 10 minutes to go Adam Whalin crossed the line to score Bridge's only points of the game.

Dave Pickavance was the man of the match for Clock.
