SAINTS coach Ian Millward has blasted the key refereeing decisions that counted against his side on Friday night.
A number of key calls went Leeds' way, prompting Millward to call for full time referees to improve standards.
The most contentious decision was the 40/20 given by video ref Ian Ollerton, although on the replay it seems clear that Danny McGuire's back foot was no longer in contact with the white 40 metre line.
Millward said: "We listened to the monitor and the referee screams out twice that the kicker was outside the 40 metre line and that has a big effect on why Darren Albert did not attack the ball.
"Why he then had to listen to the Leeds players and go to the screen and then we have a video ref who does not understand the laws of the game.
"I have seen three or four games this season where the referees and linesmen have misunderstood the rules and if they don't understand them, it is hard for supporters and players.
"Sean Long was not tackled and we were about to score. Then we have Jamie Lyon over the line - if the benefit of the doubt is supposed to go to the attacking team, that should have been a try.
"Jamie swears he had the ball down and in one of the shots on the replay you cannot see the ball, but you notice there is nobody underneath him."
Millward revealed that he had received a phone call on Monday morning from another senior coach asking about the possibility of having a meeting among the coaching fraternity.
"They are really disappointed with the inconsistency and are very frustrated, feeling they get negative feedback. On top of that we are working terribly hard every week towards winning a game, but that does not take into account the referee's inconsistency.
"And it is very frustrating, which will spill over to the players and the fans. It is an area that needs addressing," he said.
