A BOXING gym and community hub will run its eleventh annual Christmas charity workout next weekend.

Opened by husband and wife Gary and Lisa Crickson in 2015, Forge Fitness has become well-known for its focused boxing and fitness sessions in Rainhill as well as its numerous workout tournaments, fundraisers, appeals and charity workouts.

With a desire to help others, the vulnerable, or those in tough times, one of the most popular fundraisers that the boxing club organises is its Christmas workout, used to purchase gifts and toys for those spending the festive weeks at Whiston Hospital’s Children’s ward.

Taking place from 8am on Saturday, December 14, the raffle has been supported with prize donations from businesses such as  Louis William Jewellers, Imperial Quarter St Helens, 36 Bridge St Restaurant, The Brown Edge, Rocket Embroidery, H& B Hairdressing Ltd Rainhill, and more.

There has also been a special prize donated by Liverpool Football Club, with a  signed match day shirt signed by Luis Diaz, with the raffle set to take place around 1pm.

Directors at Forge, Gary and Lisa Crickson, said, “We would especially like to focus on Care Leavers this year, aged 16-21, who have often recently left care and are in supported accommodation or perhaps independently living alone, with very little, and it would be nice to think this group of young adults aren’t overlooked and wake up with a gift or two on Christmas day.”

Starting from 8am, the charity workout classes will be a minimum donation £5 while raffle Tickets will be available on the day priced £2 per ticket or £5 for 5. Raffle tickets or bids for the Liverpool Shirt can be made through Forge Fitness' social media channels or via their email train@forge-fitness.co.uk

Donations can also be dropped off at the gym at 456 Warrington Road, Rainhill, L35 8LW.
