AN APPLICATION has been made to create a swimming pool on a property's grounds.

The proposals relate to a property on Higher Lane, in Crank, described in the plans as a "large bungalow".

The bid seeks a certificate of lawfulness for proposed two-side extensions along with the creation of an outbuilding to form a swimming pool.

A certificate of lawfulness is a legal document that confirms that a proposed or existing use of land or buildings is lawful and does not require planning permission.

A planning statement in the application says: "The submitted as proposed plans set out the following elements of development: - two single sore side extensions to the dwelling following the removal of the existing side lean-to car store and detached side garage and the erection of a flat-roofed swimming pool building, which would be a swimming building required for a purpose incidental to the enjoyment of the dwellinghouse."

This concludes "the proposed extensions to the original dwelling and the proposed outbuilding are classed as permitted development under Classes A & E of the current General Permitted Development Order".

A decision on the application by council planners is expected by January 16, 2025.
