HUNDREDS of people packed out a popular pub last weekend for the return of an ever-growing Christmas light switch on.
A thriving business in the heart of Eccleston, the Griffin Inn has multiple strands to the venue; operating as a popular pub, restaurant, function venue, and hotel.
With the building serving as a guest house since the 17th century, it has evidently stood the test of time and the Griffin's increasingly popular Christmas light switch on event was held on Sunday, November 24.

Developing from a small event with a choir and carols, the Griffin's festive events have become increasingly busy and varied over the years, with the ticketed event now welcoming 500 guests to the pub grounds.
One of the most popular events on the Griffin calendar, the jam-packed Christmas light switch on had a huge collection of activities on offer.
Starting at 2pm, this included Christmas stalls and markets with a variety of festive goods, drinks, and food.
There was also fairground rides for children, elves and reindeers to see, as well as live music and entertainment.
Around 7pm, the main event began which saw a fantastic array of fireworks lighting up the sky, followed by the Christmas tree light switch on.
Joining the Griffin team as floor supervisor and team leader earlier this year, Emma Campbell said that the Griffin is the "best pub [she] has ever worked in".
This is due to the high-quality service and varied offer that the pub provides to customers, as well as the "amazing" team that holds everything together.
Speaking about the Griffin's festive event, Emma said: "The light switch on was a massive success!
"It was such a busy day for the whole team but we all worked together and everything ran perfectly!"
Located on Church Lane in Eccleston, The Griffin Inn is open from Monday to Sunday. More information can be found here.
