An Alice in Wonderland exhibition and opening week has launched in Prescot.
The event, spearheaded by the Shakespeare North Playhouse, invites people to delve into the world of Lewis Carroll’s iconic tale.
The free 'Curiouser and Curiouser' exhibition opened on November 22 and has since been a hit with people.
The exhibition boasts interactive displays, characters from the story, and opportunities for visitors to create their own Alice-inspired crafts.
The event has been described as "wonderfully imaginative" and "perfect for families".
On November 23, a 'Welcome to Wonderland' event was held, featuring activities and performances from local businesses.
Louise Gillespie, owner of Jessie & Co and chair of Prescot Business Club, said: "Prescot is more than just a town—it’s a vibrant, collaborative community.
"This year, by embracing an enchanting Alice in Wonderland theme for Christmas, we’re inviting visitors to step into a world of whimsy while exploring our town centre.
"This celebration isn’t just about festive fun; it’s an opportunity for our cherished independent businesses to shine and for everyone to experience the warmth and uniqueness that Prescot has to offer."
The event was a massive success, drawing a large crowd and bringing the town to life.
The preview performances of the Alice in Wonderland production at the Shakespeare North Playhouse were equally well-received, with audiences captivated by the storytelling, visuals, and performances.
The play follows Alice as she returns to Wonderland, now under the rule of The Duchess.
She, along with the Mad Hatter and Cheshire Cat, must restore joy to the kingdom.
The event will run throughout the holiday season alongside the Alice in Wonderland production.
Tickets for the play are reportedly in high demand, and people are advised to book early to secure their spot.
