FROM St Helens to the West End, Olivia Holding is a shining example of what people can achieve in the Arts and entertainment industry.

Graduating from London’s Bird College of Arts in 2014, Olivia has appeared in a variety of theatre shows from St Helens Theatre Royal to the West End of London, in productions such as Mamma Mia, Wicked, Les Miserables, Saturday Night Fever, Hamilton, and The Wizard Of Oz.

In addition to her theatre shows, Olivia has also done TV work including a feature on Saturday Night Takeaway, and her burgeoning career was recognised as she won the St Helens Flooring Arts Award at the Pride of St Helens Awards on Friday, November 22.

With Earlestown band The K's and young actor Louie Gray narrowly missing out, Kate pointed out that the nominees and previous winners highlights the artistic talent in St Helens that needs to be nurtured and supported.

And as some of Olivia's former teachers at Elizabeth Hill School of Dance were in the room at the Totally Wicked Stadium, Kate said that it felt like a full circle a moment to win this award in St Helens.

"She has always been proud of where she had come from and has been back to act as a celebrity judge at Willowbrook Hospice charity events.

"Olivia's step dad also passed away two years ago, who was so supportive of her, so this award really means a lot."

Speaking about the award win on social media, Olivia said: "I was told at one point 'You're from St Helens? You're lucky you made it this far, no one from St Helens ever makes anything of themselves'.

"Well the Pride of St Helens Awards proves different. My home is my home. Eternally grateful for everyone in my life who's got me to this point.
