A WOMAN was arrested on suspicion of GBH after police were called over concern for the safety of a child.
A police presence was seen in the Windle area over the weekend.
When asked about this, police said they were contacted in relation to "concern for the safety of a small child".
A spokeswoman added that the child is in hospital being assessed.
A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent (Section 18 assault).

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We were contacted on Saturday, November 23, regarding concern for the safety of a small child.
"The child is currently in hospital being assessed.
"A 24-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of s18 assault and is assisting with our inquiries."
