The JC Kitchens School of the Year Award
WITH Allanson Street pupils "giddy with excitement" over their Pride of St Helens nomination, school leaders couldn't wait to tell them about their award win.
Going up against two fantastic schools in Rainford primary and Bleak Hill primary, Allanson Street was named the 'School of the Year' at the Pride of St Helens Awards on Friday, November 22.
With teachers seeing Allanson Street as "more than just a school", the school supports pupils and families in several ways, from their varied curriculum and supportive staff, to the foodbank, uniform bank, and breakfast club offers.
Pupils are also taken on trips to places of cultural interest and taught the importance of giving back to their community.

Headteacher Mrs Dingdale said: "I’m biased but I think our children are the best. They are surrounded by love and our staff members go above and beyond every single day.
"I genuinely believe that this is a special place and we see ourselves as more than just a school. We know that the school is in a deprived area so we want to offer as much support as possible and show the children that anything is possible.
"Our extra-curricular activates is all about personal development and broadening the children's horizons. Ofsted even said that our personal development was the jewel in our crown.
"The Ofsted report was amazing but this award seals the deal. I want our pupils to know that it doesn't matter where they come from because they are amazing, their classmates are amazing, and they can achieve anything they want.
"We try to instil different values into the children each week and [last] week's value was Pride so it is very fitting to win this award.
"The children were already giddy with excitement about the nomination so we can't wait to tell them and share this award with them!"
