A new Aldi store is set to open in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
The supermarket will open on Wigan Road on December 5, at 8am.
This new store will replace the current Aldi on Princess Road.
It will be run by store manager Ben Waddington and a team of 30 employees.
This initiative is part of Aldi's push to invest in local communities across the UK.
According to consumer group Which?, Aldi has been named the UK's cheapest supermarket for 2023, the third consecutive year it has received this accolade.
The new store will have fresh, British meat products with weekly offers, Aldi’s award-winning ‘Specially Selected’ range, exclusive beers, wines, and spirits, and a ‘Food to Go’ section at the front of the store.
Aldi’s Specialbuys, offering great value on a wide range of products from electrical items to garden tools, will also be available in the middle aisle every Thursday and Sunday.
Aldi store manager Ben Waddington said: "We can’t wait to open the doors to the new store in Ashton-in-Makerfield.
"It’s set to be a special day and having Olympic hero Bianca Cook join us will make it a morning to remember."
Supporting Team GB since 2015 with monthly vouchers for fresh, healthy food, Aldi will have taekwondo star and bronze medallist Bianca Cook cutting the ribbon to celebrate the store's opening.
She will also give away complimentary bags of fresh fruit and vegetables to the first 30 customers in the queue.
Bianca Cook said: "I’m so excited to be opening Aldi’s new store; it will be great to chat to customers and a lovely way for me to thank Aldi for its support of Team GB."
The new store is calling on local charities and food banks in Ashton-in-Makerfield to register with Neighbourly, a community engagement platform that connects businesses with local charitable organisations.
Registered charities will be able to collect surplus food and perishable products, such as fruit, vegetables, and baked goods, seven days a week.
Any charities in the area interested in partnering with the new Aldi store should email aldi@neighbourly.com.
The new store will be open from 8am to 10pm Monday to Saturday and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday.
