POLICE arrested a woman in St Helens town centre after reports of the concern for the safety of three children.
A police presence was seen on Bridge Street, in St Helens town centre earlier this afternoon, Friday, November 15.
When asked about this, a police spokesman said this related to reports of "a concern for the safety of three children".
He added a 28-year-old woman from Skelmersdale was arrested on suspicion of child neglect, being drunk in charge of a child, and of resisting arrest.
He added the children involved are safe and well and appropriate safeguarding measures are in place.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We were called to Bridge Street at around 12.40pm to reports of a concern for the safety of three children.
"A 28-year-old woman from Skelmersdale was arrested on suspicion of child neglect/being drunk in charge of a child; and resisting arrest. She was taken to a police station for questioning.
"Inquiries are ongoing and the children involved are safe and well and appropriate safeguarding measures in place."
