Cowley Sixth Form College has this week celebrated a special Stuttgart performance to honour a visit from the city's leader.

The Cowley Sixth Form College Choir recently represented St Helens for a special performance at Stuttgart’s Town Hall to honour Andrea Klett-Eininger, a distinguished leader in Stuttgart, on her retirement.

The choir was specially chosen to showcase the musical talent of St Helens as part of the town twinning between St Helens and Stuttgart, celebrating the long-standing friendship and cultural exchange between the two towns.

The choir delivered a captivating performance, singing three songs as the Cowley Choir before joining up with students from the Ferdinand-Porsche-Gymnasium School, Stuttgart, for a heartfelt rendition of Yazoo’s iconic “Only You”.

This unique collaboration highlighted the power of music to bring people together across borders, providing a fitting tribute to Ms. Klett-Eininger’s service to Stuttgart.

Representing Cowley Sixth Form College and St Helens, the choir’s performance was met with enthusiastic applause and appreciation from attendees, underscoring the strength of the cultural bond shared by the two towns.

Head of Cowley Sixth Form, Danny Watkins, said: "It was a privilege and an honour to be chosen to perform at this important event and represent St Helens.

"We have an amazing partnership with our friends in Stuttgart, they were so hospitable and welcomed us with open arms on our visit.

"It was a fantastic opportunity for our students to take part in such an event, travel internationally and showcase their amazing talents. I'm extremely proud of them.

"The college extends its heartfelt thanks to the City of Stuttgart for hosting this event and to Ms. Klett-Eininger for her dedication and service."

The success of this event is a testament to the enriching partnership between St Helens and Stuttgart, a bond that has fostered cultural and educational exchanges for decades.
