A DRIVER had to be cut from a car and taken to hospital after a "shunt" crash involving a van and three cars.
Emergency services rushed to Prescot Road on Wednesday evening, November 13, at around 5.15pm.
Police and the fire and rescue service were in attendance at the scene of the crash, believed to have happened between the Spar convenience store and Laurel Villa dental practice.
Fire and rescue crews had to cut out one of the occupants of a vehicle who was trapped inside after the crash.
Paramedics used a neck brace to safely remove them and the casualty was taken to hospital.
A police spokeswoman said the crash was a low-speed "shunt" collision.
A Ford Transit van, a Ford Kuga, a Nissan Qashqai and a BMW were involved in the crash.

The spokeswoman added that it is not believed there were any serious injuries suffered, with the one motorist "taken to hospital as a precaution".
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Fire crews were called to a Road Traffic Collision (RTC) yesterday evening on Prescot Road, St Helens.
"Crews were alerted at 5.27pm and on scene at 5.33pm, with two fire engines and the search and rescue team in attendance.
"Crews arrived to find a four-vehicle RTC with all vehicles on all four wheels.
"Five occupants of three of the vehicles were out on arrival of crews with no apparent injuries.
"The remaining vehicle had one occupant who was trapped in the vehicle as a result of the collision.
"Firefighters assessed the casualty and prepared the vehicle for roof removal while waiting for the arrival of North West Ambulance Service.
"Upon the arrival of NWAS a neck brace was used by paramedics to safely remove the casualty from the vehicle for onward transport to hospital.
"Merseyside Police were also on scene managing traffic. Crews left the scene at 7.07pm."
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "There was a low-speed collision involving four vehicles travelling along Prescot Road in the direction of Lugsmore Lane at around 5.15pm yesterday (Wednesday).
"The vehicles involved were a Ford Transit van, a Ford Kuga, a Nissan Qashqai and a BMW".
She added there are "no reports of anyone being seriously injured" and that "one driver was taken to hospital as a precaution."
