A supermarket has asked shoppers in Merseyside to nominate local charities for a share of its winter fund.
Aldi's initiative will see the store donate £10,000 to charities across the UK to support communities in the run-up to Christmas.
Aldi's representatives will review the nominations, and the selected charities will receive cash donations.
These are intended to alleviate some of the pressure faced during the increased demand in winter.
To nominate a charity, shoppers need to submit their entry via email to aldiwinterfund@citypress.co.uk.
The email must include the name and location of the organisation, along with a brief summary explaining why they deserve to win.
Liz Fox, national sustainability director at Aldi UK, said: "The winter period can be an incredibly challenging time for many people across the country and we are committed to doing everything we can to support those in need.
"We hope our shoppers can help us identify charities that could benefit from this donation to continue the incredible work that they do to help their local communities."
Entries are open from November 11 and close on November 24.
More information and terms and conditions can be found on Aldi's website.
