A BODY has been found in the search for missing man Dennis Wyatt, police have confirmed.

An emergency services presence was seen in the area of Boardmans Lane, in Blackbrook on Sunday, November 10.

When asked about this, a police spokesman confirmed that during investigations into the disappearance of 66-year-old Dennis Wyatt, a body of a man was found.

At around 10.25am yesterday, Sunday, November 10, a member of the public had found a body in woodland off Boardmans Lane.

Mr Wyatt had been reported as missing from home since Sunday, November 3, where he was last seen on Park Road in Parr.

His family have been informed and are being supported by officers.

In a statement, a Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Officers investigating the disappearance of 66-year-old Dennis Wyatt can confirm that a body of a man was found yesterday, Sunday, November 10.

"Mr Wyatt went missing on Sunday, November 3 and since then extensive inquiries have been carried out by officers to find him.

"The body of a man was found by a member of the public at around 10.25am yesterday, Sunday 10 November, in woodland off Boardmans Lane, in St Helens.

"Mr Wyatt’s family have been informed and are being supported by officers from Merseyside Police at this sad time.

"At this time the death is being treated as unexplained and a post mortem examination will take place to establish the cause.

"The body is yet to be formally identified."
