A NEW town centre pub which prides itself on its cosy and friendly atmosphere has extended its opening days - after getting off to a great start.

It was Rebecca's aim to create a cosy and friendly atmosphere. The layout includes open brickwork, wooden furniture and cosy corners, a setting designed to appeal to pub lovers who love a good pint and a friendly chat.

The screening of big sporting fixtures is also proving to be a big crowd-puller too.

The Tipsy Tap initially opened from Wednesdays to Sundays but the bar's strong start means it is now opening on Mondays and Tuesdays too, a delighted Ian confirmed.

Ian, who is aiming to attract a restaurant to open up in units he is developing next door to the pub on Ormskirk Street, had set his sights on bringing another quality venue to St Helens to sit alongside the likes of The Cricketers, The Lamb, Cinema bar and the Turks Head.

“People want good places to go and there are a number of quality pubs around St Helens," he previously told the Star."

The Tipsy Tap will be open on Remembrance Sunday, offering a complimentary tipple and selection of sandwiches from Pickles Farms.
