ONE of the most famous bodybuilders in the world is set to visit a community gym in St Helens this month.

Known as 'The King', Ronnie Coleman is regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time, with a joint record eight Mr. Olympia titles and 26 international titles.

Inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame in 2016, Coleman has travelled the world to endorse products and meet fans after his retirement in 2007, and he will make his first visit to St Helens later this month.

With UFC champion Tom Aspinall and strongman Eddie Hall previously training at Evolution Fitness, the Duncan Street gym already has a reputation as a high-quality facility.

Aiming to act as a community hub, Evolution has also opened as a warm hub, paid for haircuts for the homeless, delivered Christmas presents, and organised classes for special needs and badly-behaved kids.

The gym has also launched a podcast to focus on the challenges people have faced in sport and business, and its latest project is a 'meet and greet' session with 'The King' himself.

Set to take place on Thursday, November 21, the three-hour ticketed event will allow guests to meet and have pictures with Coleman. Guests will also be able to listen to his life story and how he became one of the world's greatest bodybuilders.

Speaking about the event, Mike Garner said: "This is massive for St Helens because Ronnie Coleman is an absolute legend.

"He's never been to this part of town before. He's going to Aberdeen and London and we are the only gym he is going to in the North West, so this is absolutely massive for the town."
