A YOUNG cyclist is reported to have been rushed to hospital last night following a serious collision in Bryn.
Following the serious collision on Monday, November 4, Greater Manchester Police taped off the area and installed a full road closure around the junction of Wigan Road and Bryn Road.
Witnesses reported that the collision involved a car and a young person on a bike.
The driver of the vehicle is reported to have been shaken up and the cyclist rushed to hospital with head injuries.
The incident caused major delays and congestion in Bryn and Ashton-in-Makerfield while officers dealt with the incident.

Announcing details of the incident last night, a Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: "Police are currently in attendance at the scene of a Road Traffic Collision on Wigan road, junction of Bryn Road, Wigan.
"At this time, there is a full closure on this junction whilst police conduct their enquiries and investigations.
"The road is likely to remain closed for some time and officers are advising motorist to avoid the area and find an alternative route to complete your journey."
Officers kept their cordon in place for more than two hours while they investigated the scene. The Force has not responded to further questions about the incident.
