A MAN was taken to hospital after a crash involving three vehicles.

Emergency services rushed to the scene at the junction of Sutton Heath Road and Elephant Lane on Frida afternoon, November 1. 

At around 3pm, fire and rescue crews, and police attended.

Police said a man was taken to hospital by a family member following the crash.

A road closure was in place following the crash.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "MFRS attended an incident on Sutton Heath Road, St Helens on the afternoon of Friday, November 1. 

"Crews were alerted at 3.06pm and on scene at 3.12pm, with two fire engines attending.

"This was a three-vehicle road traffic collision (RTC), with all vehicles on all four wheels.

"All occupants were conscious and breathing and monitored by crews prior to North West Ambulance Service attendance.

"One occupant was taken to hospital for further precautionary checks.

"Crews handed over to Merseyside Police before leaving the scene at 3.58pm."

A Merseyside Police spokesman added; "We can confirm we received a report of a collision at around 3pm at the junction of Elephant Lane and Sutton Heath Lane on Friday, November 1.

"Emergency services attended the scene and a road closure was put in place. A man was taken to hospital by a family member.

"The road was reopened shortly after the incident."
