POLICE have blasted "disgraceful" vandalism of planters in St Helens town centre.

The vandalism was inflicted to several flower planters at Church Square on Saturday evening (November 2).

Officers have shared images of the damage caused, and appealed for information.

In a statement on Saturday night, police said: "If any of your little angels have come home tonight with muddy hands, you might want to let us know.

"This was the scene around Church Square this evening after several of the flower planters had been vandalised.

"Disgraceful and utterly shocking behaviour."

Officers added: "We are currently reviewing CCTV footage to try to identify the culprits.

"If you have any information that could assist us then please contact us and quote crime reference 24000932640."
