A MAN has been charged after a pensioner was found dead in a house.
As the Star revealed yesterday, the body of a 77-year-old man was found inside a terraced house on Clipsley Lane, Haydock on Tuesday night, October 29.
This morning police confirmed the man's identity as Alfred Langley.
They added that Peter Langley, 33, of Clipsley Lane, Haydock has been charged with murder.
Police confirmed that at about 10.10pm on Tuesday, October 29, officers received a report that the man had been found dead and had a head injury.
They later made an arrest and subsequently charged Peter Langley.

News of the man's death and the murder investigation have left residents who live in the busy area shocked.
The property at the centre of the investigation is opposite a row of shops, including the Sam's Wines off licence.
House-to-house police inquiries have been been conducted in the area.
Peter Langley appeared at South Sefton Magistrates' Court this morning and the 33-year-old also went before Liverpool Crown Court today, Friday.
A hearing was scheduled for February 3, 2025 when Peter Langley is expected to enter a plea to the charge of murder.
Meanwhile, a possible trial date has been earmarked for April 28.
The defendant was remanded back into custody until February's plea and trial preparation hearing.
