A FAMILY with an eye for the rare and unique have been making a name for themselves on the edge of St Helens town centre.
Formerly working in the construction industry, Robert Szabo has always had an interest in collectibles and buying and selling pre-loved items.
After moving to the UK from Hungary, Robert decided to expand his hobby into a business and the Szabo family launched 'Vintage Valuables' on North John Street last December.

Tucked around the back of Westfield Street, Vintage Valuables sells a wide range of products that spans the decades.
This ranges from vintage board games to nostalgic films and video games, antique home goods to traditional artworks, old-fashioned dolls to pre-loved toys, and much more.
While Robert tries to offer as many varied products as possible, he takes the most pride in selling rare and unique items that you "can't get anywhere else", such as antiquated gramophones, classic musical instruments, and grandfather clocks.
And although the business is tucked away on the edge of the town centre, Robert said that he has had a great response from collectible enthusiasts in St Helens as well as online.
Robert said: "Sometimes days can be quiet but other times we can be really busy, and we have had some great responses from people coming into the shop.
"It's great when they find something really interesting or something that brings back memories, and we try our best to offer something that you can't get anywhere else.
"This is my first business and we are really happy with the response we have had in St Helens and online."
Valuable Varieties is open six days a week on North John Street. More information can be found
