PROPOSALS have been drawn up seeking to convert a vacant former florist shop into a mixed residential and retail use property.
A planning application has been sent to council planners for 61 Ormskirk Street, in St Helens town centre.
The property was formerly the premises of Fleurs florists.
Proposals have been sent in by applicant Mark Orford seeking permission for a change of use for the rear part of the ground floor and the first floor to residential.
Plans state: "The property is located in the area of Ormskirk Street that is in need of regeneration with many of the retail premises being unoccupied for a considerable period of time."

They add: "It is proposed that the property is to retain the retail use of the ground floor but the first floor and part of the ground floor would become residential.
"Access to the residential part of the property would be from the rear of the site where there is vehicle parking available".
Plans say the property has been subject to re-roofing and internal works to "prevent further deterioration".
The application is on standard consultation to the public until Monday, November 11.
A decision on the proposals is expected by December 13.
