A FA-BU-LOUS night was had for the Willowbrook Strictly Glitter Ball raising much needed funds for the hospice.

Willowbrook Hospice’s take on Strictly Come Dancing took place on Saturday, October 26 at the Totally Wicked Stadium and was an incredible success, raising an astonishing £48,288, beating the previous year which raised £37,000.

The evening was filled with glitz, glamour, and incredible talent with the sole purpose of the night raising vital funds for the local hospice, and to show awareness of the amazing work that staff does for the St Helens community.

This year’s competitors included staff and volunteers from the hospice and supporters, all of whom have had a connection to Willowbrook in some way.

They were supported by their family, friends and colleagues.

The evening was compered by the fantastic ITV’s Paul Crone, guests enjoyed a delicious three course meal, and in between dances, an auction took place with exclusive items such as signed Conor Coady football boots, artwork donated by Johnny Vegas, a signed Saints shirt and much more.

Contestants gave it their all, and wowed the crowd, some have never danced like this before, and gave performances that would not have been out of place at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.

This year, the judges found it hard to choose one winner, so for the first time, the joint Strictly Glitter Ball 2024 trophy winners were Adi Kerfoot and Clare Buckner – both supporters of the hospice who have had family members access Willowbrook Hospice.

Adi and his partner Jeanine performed a fantastic tango routine to Thriller.

Adi absolutely wowed the crowd, having never danced before, he did not show any nerves at all and really looked like a professional.

Clare Buckner and her partner Emma looked stunning as they danced the Charleston – comments from the audience was they didn’t know who was the professional and who wasn’t.

An additional trophy was given for the People’s Vote, which was won by Dominica Randolfi and her partner James with their energetic Samba routine.

The hospice has thanked Silhouette Dance School for their support with providing the dance lessons to all the contestants, and the headline sponsor Frodshams Solicitors for making the event possible.

Due to this enormous success, plans are already underway for 2025’s Strictly Glitter Ball, and the hospice is inviting potential future contestants to come forward and send in their expressions of interest here: https://forms.office.com/e/9g1VeZpz3F
