EMERGENCY services rushed to the scene after a telehandler caught fire.

Fire crews were called to Jubits Lane, in Sutton Manor, on Saturday afternoon, October 26, at around 12.30pm, to extinguish the blaze.

Residents reported seeing the road sealed off in the area close to the Smithy Manor.

A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said crews found a telehandler in flames, with the fire in the engine compartment.

A telehandler is an agricultural or industrial hydraulic lifting vehicle with an extendable boom, with the appearance of a forklift and cherry picker combined.

Crews extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet and spent almost an hour at the scene.

Police also attended the scene.
