POLICE have confirmed that no further action has been taken following reports of a sexual assault in St Helens town centre.
Merseyside Police put out a CCTV appeal - featuring a man's image - last month after reports that a female was assaulted on Ormskirk Street in the early hours of Sunday, August 18.
Officers said that the appeal was put out after extensive CCTV and witness enquiries were conducted following the "very serious crime", and they believed the man pictured could assist further with their investigation.

Since the appeal was launched on September 18, Merseyside Police have confirmed that an individual came forward to assist in the investigation.
Police have confirmed that no arrests were made and no further action has been taken following the reports.
