THE Theatre Royal will be echoing with the sounds of some of the most iconic songs of the 1960s when the Manfreds return to St Helens next month.

The Manfreds were born from the original members of the 1960s chart-topping band Manfred Mann, known for their infectious blend of rhythm and blues, jazz, and pop that captivated audiences worldwide, taking them from the blues revival scene to the masses on the wave of ‘The British Invasion’.

With a career spanning over six decades, The Manfreds have become synonymous with a timeless sound that has left an indelible mark on British culture.

With original front man Paul Jones on lead vocals, the band are still going strong and went down a storm at Glastonbury in the summer where their set list included 5-4-3-2-1, Fox on the Run, Ha! Ha! Said the Clown, Pretty Flamingo and Mighty Quinn – classic songs, including several number ones, with a timeless quality.

They finished that Glastonbury set with the popular singalong audience pleaser ‘Do Wah Diddy Diddy’.

Expect a selection of those hits, along with a mix of Jazz and Blues covers and tracks from their individual solo albums.

Paul Jones, with his unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Tom McGuinness on guitar, Pete Riley on drums, Mike Gorman on keyboards, Marcus Cliffe on bass, and Simon Currie on saxophone/ flute.

Over the years, The Manfreds have enjoyed a remarkable resurgence, with sold-out tours, critically acclaimed performances, and a loyal fan base that spans generations.

Catch The Manfreds at St Helens Theatre Royal on Thursday, 14 November, 7.30pm. Tickets are priced £28.50. Box office 01744 756000.
