The pantomime Sleeping Beauty is captivating young audiences in St Helens this week.
The spectacular play is being performed at the Theatre Royal every day until November 3.
This production, brought to the stage by Regal Entertainments Ltd, tells the well-known tale of Princess Aurora.
She becomes the victim of a curse by the evil fairy Carabosse, pricks her finger on a spinning wheel, and is destined to sleep for a hundred years unless broken by a handsome prince.
A cast of favourites brings the story to life.
Maddie Hope Coelho stars as Princess Aurora, while Rachael Wood plays Carabosse.
Lewis Devine takes on the role of Chester the Jester and Lewis Burrage is the Prince.
Other cast members include Warren Donnelly as the King, Katy Mac as Fairy Sparkle, and Mark Two as Dame Queenie.
Each performance promises a "magical" journey filled with a "fantastic" soundtrack, "opulent" settings, and eye-catching costumes.
The play was penned by Liam Mellor, directed by Chantelle Nolan, and features choreography by Nazene Langfield.
Musical supervision is by Callum Clarke.
Ms Hope Coelho's return to the role of Princess Aurora follows her performance in the same role for Regal Entertainments in 2022.
She has a strong background in theatre, having trained at Laine Theatre Arts, West End MT, The Royal Ballet School, and Saxtead School of Dance.
Her experience extends beyond the Regal pantomimes to productions like The Rocky Horror Show (UK and Ireland tour), Singin’ In The Rain, and Aladdin.
Chantelle Nolan, St Helens Theatre manager and panto director, said: "We’re taking St Helens audiences on an enchanting journey this half term with great performances, sumptuous sets and costumes, cracking choreography and brilliant songs that will get you dancing in your seat – and on your feet.
"Sleeping Beauty is a fabulous fairytale, and I’m absolutely delighted we’re able to stage it with such a brilliant cast of St Helens favourites.
"It’s already proving to be a big hit with audiences, it’s so wonderful to see the happy faces on children and adults alike."
Tickets are priced from £22 to £26, with a special relaxed performance scheduled for November 1 at 1pm.
