A FAMILY friendly festival has bagged a huge pop star for their summer event next year.
Launched by Phil Thomas in 2017, 'Picnic in the Park' has grown from a small festival into a extremely popular community event each summer in Rainford.
Offering something for all the family, the not-for-profit festival now attracts crowds of around 3,500 people and has attracted acts such as Scouting For Girls and 'Boyzlife' to headline the festival.
With tickets now on sale for next summer's event, organisers have announced that Pixie Lott will be Picnic in the Park's headliner for 2025.

With Pixie Lott's debut album 'Turn It Up' selling more than 1.6 million copies, the singer is most well known for her early pop singles such as 'Mama Do (Uh Oh, Uh Oh)' and 'Boys and Girls'.
Ten years after her 2014 self titled album, Pixie released her latest album 'Encino' in September and will play the Jubilee Playing Fields on Saturday, June 7, 2025.
Foo Fighters tribute band 'Fu Fighters', nostalgic DJs 'Ultra 90s', and the high-energy 'Manchester Ska Foundation' are also scheduled to play next summer's event.
Complete with live music, fairground rides, children's activities, and food and drink stalls, airs, Picnic in the Park has raised more than £70,000 since its inception.
With the festival now officially a Community Interest Company, this money has been directed for Rainford Rangers Football Club, Rainford Cricket Club, Rainford Tennis Club, and Rainford Boys Brigade and Girls Association over the years.
The growing festival now also boasts a second day on Friday, June 6, which operates separately to the main event and will involve entertainment with Ben from 'Phats and Small' and 'Ultimate Coldplay'.
